Networks

The purpose of this online professional learning workshop is to equip and empower teachers to teach Networks, the new-to-NSW topic. Note that participants will have ongoing access to the workshop materials. i.e. there is no end date.

The workshop will effectively enable participants to:
  • Learn about the concepts and terminology associated with the NSW version of the topic of Networks.
  • Clarify the difference between the content of Standard 1 and Standard 2.
  • Use the algorithms, theorems and ideas associated with Networks.
  • Explain all of the above to students.
  • Converse (online) with colleagues from all over NSW.
  • Share and receive ideas, resources and advice with a wider group of colleagues than would be possible in a one-day face-to-face event.
Workshop participants will have access to ready-to-use electronic resources for every section of the topic, including:
  • Teaching programs containing links to useful resources. PowerPoint slideshows and other files which teachers can use in class and share with their students.
  • Examples with carefully worked solutions.
  • Voice-over videos for teachers in which Becky provides teaching advice and highlights some of the nuances of Networks.

Testimonials

To be honest I was really worried about teaching the Networks Strand to my Year 12’s next year.  I was totally unfamiliar with the content. The online workshop for Networks has been a life saver for me.  The video presentations are awesome. So great to be able to stop and start them and practise the questions.  I am now feeling so much more confident that I can do justice to the Strand and present Networks in a meaningful and relevant way.  Thanks so much for this workshop and the amazing resources that come with it. Erin Lovell, Central Coast Adventist School

Feedback

I have never interacted with this amount of teachers in professional dialogue of such a high standard of inspiration, structuring and participation. The format is very flexible and wonderfully varied in perspectives. I am enjoying it. Thank you.
